Donald Trump ist bald raus, aber nicht die Menschen, die ihn als Präsidenten wollen und durchaus berechtigte Fragen und Anliegen an die amerikanische Gesellschaft haben. Der Impfstoff ist auch
schon da und das sind wahrscheinlich keine Fake-News. Wir setzen oft Fakten mit Wahrheit gleich und gehen davon aus, dass es einen allgemeinen Konsens geben muss, wenn alle das Thema nur
ausreichend untersucht und das Ergebnis dessen dann (an)erkannt haben. Sooo einfach ist das nicht und das finde ich auch gut so. Fakt ist für mich, dass alle Wesen leben und nicht leiden wollen,
aber darüber hinaus müssen Konsens oder Schnittmengen zum Teil hart erarbeitet werden, denn wir haben ja nicht alle die gleiche Ausgangssituation und die gleiche Wahrnehmung der Dinge. Ich zum
Beispiel bin ein verwöhnter Mitteleuropäer, der befriedigende Arbeit, eine warme Wohnung, Zugang zu sauberem Wasser, gesundem Essen und sozialen Kontakten hat und bisher nicht mit Corona
infiziert ist. Diese Kombi ist ein Luxus, den mindestens 70 % der restlichen Welt nicht haben. Dass es ein Ungleichgewicht in der Verteilung von Ressourcen und Wohlstand gibt, ist auch keine
Frühfolge der Pandemie. Was mich etwas sorgt, ist die starke Polarisierung beim Thema Covid-19. Klar, die Bedrohung ist real und da schaltet der Sympathikus in unserem vegetativen Nervensystem
schon mal automatisch auf „Angriff oder Flucht“. Dazwischen gibt es nichts! Wenige Zwischentöne sehe ich oft auch in der gesellschaftlichen Diskussion um angemessene Maßnahmen. Es sollte erlaubt
sein, einen skeptischen Blick z. B. auf die Folgen der Lockdowns und der verordneten Isolation für alte und kranke Menschen, aber auch Kinder und Jugendliche zu haben, ohne als
Verschwörungstheoretiker oder Aluhutträger etikettiert zu werden. Mich persönlich wundert, dass es einen starken Fokus gibt, wieder eine Normalität herzustellen, die wir uns z. B. in puncto
Klimawandel gar nicht mehr leisten können. Ich weiß an vielen Punkten nicht, wie es weitergehen kann, habe keinen Plan oder Konzept, nicht mal eine Meinung. Das Ende ist ja immer nah, aber nicht
gleich zu wissen, könnte auch ein Anfang sein für neue Ideen. 2. Januar 21

We often equate facts with truth and assume that there must be a general consensus if only everyone has investigated the topic sufficiently and then (recognized) the result. It's not that simple and I think that's a good thing. For me, the fact is that all beings want to live and not suffer, but beyond that, consensus or intersections sometimes have to be worked out hard, because we don't all have the same starting point and the same perception of things. I, for example, am a spoiled Central European who has a satisfying job, a warm apartment, access to clean water, healthy food and social contacts and has not yet been infected with corona. This combination is a luxury that at least 70% of the rest of the world does not have. The fact that there is an imbalance in the distribution of resources and prosperity is also not an early consequence of the pandemic. What worries me a little is the strong polarization when it comes to Covid-19. Of course, the threat is real and the sympathetic nervous system in our vegetative nervous system automatically switches to “attack or flight”. There is nothing in between! I often see a few nuances in the social discussion about appropriate measures. We should be allowed to take a skeptical view, for example, of the consequences of lockdowns and prescribed isolation for the elderly and sick, as well as children and young people, without being labeled a conspiracy theorist or an alarmist. Personally, I am surprised that there is a strong focus on restoring a normality that we can no longer afford when it comes to climate change, for example. At many points, I don't know how things can continue, I have no plan or concept, not even an opinion. The end is always near, but not knowing right away could also be a start for new ideas.
